First of all, I’m NOT a writer! I’m just someone who is passionate about design and is trying to use the gifts God gave him to help other churches put something out there on the web that helps them appeal to both their members and visitors interested in going to their church.

So why is the look of your church website design so important these days? Well in a report just released this year (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10895934/), researchers found that the brain makes decisions in just a 20th of a second of viewing a web page. So no matter how many features your church website has or how easy it is to navigate, if it doesn’t look good, your visitor probably won’t even stay long enough to find out. Your website will also be the first point of contact for many people in the community you’re in, so first impressions count!

This is why I decided to focus my church website business first on the design part and THEN to focus on great interactive features. Once your visitor decides to stay and browse through your church site because the look of it draws him/her in, that’s when what you actually put on the site matters.

Since much has already been written on the subject by countless others, I will link to an internet evanglism today article, which has 70 Plus Tips for Effective Church Websites
